My primary text for session 3 is the defence budget of the US. Although this is supposed to be a primary text for the lesson the real US budget is 401 pages of mostly useless information. So to make it easier for everyone to look at it in time for tomorrows meeting I’m using this website as my source.

It's good to see US policy put into a global context. This also touches on debates over arms spending as part of US political policy - albeit only skimming the surface as yet.

This is an article about Bush asking congress for more funds for the military. Whats interesting is the funds he wants are for iraq and afghanistan. The cost of these two conflicts is not included in the US defence budget, so America is spending even more money on the military on top of the original defence budget.
